After more than 15 months of war, over 90% of Gaza's population has been displaced—2 million people living in makeshift camps, overcrowded shelters, and damaged buildings with no protection from the winter cold . Hospitals are shuttered. Markets are empty. And for countless families, hunger has become a daily companion.
Shams Organization is on the ground, working tirelessly to change this reality. Our Emergency Food Distribution Campaign provides freshly prepared, nutritious hot meals to displaced families across Gaza—families who have lost everything and now depend on humanitarian aid to survive .
Through community kitchens established in partnership with local volunteers, we prepare family-size meals sufficient for 3-5 persons, ensuring that each meal reaches those who need it most . Our field teams distribute these meals directly to displaced families living in tents, vulnerable households in hard-to-reach areas, and community gathering points across northern, central, and southern Gaza .
We give special priority to the most vulnerable: orphans who have lost parents to the violence, elderly individuals suffering age-related illnesses with no one to care for them, widows and single mothers struggling to feed their children, patients with chronic diseases like kidney failure and cancer, and malnourished children whose bodies are crying out for protein and warmth .
